This is a small token of my appreciation for what Mr. Messiha has done for me and my daughters, now 15 and 16 years old. I was lucky enough to have met him back in 2004 after looking for a math/science tutor to help my young daughters. Throughout the last 10 years, not only has he earned my family's respect as a teacher, but his impact on my daughters life has simply been amazing. My daughters started meeting with Mr. Messiha a couple time a week for math tutoring. His vast knowledge, excellent teaching skills and phenomenal personality worked together to result in my daughter achieving what many considered near impossible. Through hard work and also relying on Mr Messiha's guidance and support, my daughter has been recognized repeatedly by her school and university of Waterloo. I can not find the words to properly give credit to him for everything he's done for my family. I will forever owe him a debt of gratitude. it's been an honor to have met him on a professional level, and to call him a dear friend. A professional, friendly and caring individual whose only aim was my children success. Thank you.

M. Messiha was my math teacher and he always went above and beyond, he even started python to teach us coding to help us for high school. He always put his students first so in the event that they weren’t at school, all the lesson were already online so the student would not miss out. On top of that, he would teach us extra to prep us for high school and in result I personally, did great when I got there. He is honestly one of my favourite teachers.

During my time at Laurier, M. Messiha was an intermediate science, french and math teacher. Although I never had him as a home room teacher, I was lucky enough to have him in both grade 7 for science and math, as well as in grade 8 for math. To this day, M. Messiha’s teachings of both the curriculum and the habits i formed have helped me in ways that no teacher has ever helped me before. M. Messiha is one of the very few teachers that I know who designed his teachings and his lessons to actually teach his students. M. Messiha went to great distances to ensure that we understood the concepts he taught us. He would almost always sacrifice his break times to help us if we needed it and in fact he encouraged us to stay in at recesses if need be. He shared many personal struggles and accomplishments with his students to motivate and show them that with hard work, comes success and happiness. The lessons I learned while being his student are one of the primary reasons that I was and still am prepared for high school. I feel that M. Messiha’s methods of teaching should in fact be taught to other teachers, as they are outstanding and incomparable.

I was extremely blessed to have M. Messiha as my homeroom teacher in grade 8. He is one of the few teachers who inspired me to want to become a teacher myself in the future. He was always incredibly organized and consistent which really showed how dedicated he was to his job and to his students’ success. His notes were hands-down the best notes you could ever take, being clear and easy to understand. He always went beyond limits to give his students the best chance of understanding the lessons. Through his lessons, I’ve learned many relevant and significant things which I use even to this day (I am currently in grade 10). A teacher’s impact is unconditional.

During the time I attended Laurier, M. Messiha was the homeroom teacher that students entering grade 8 had spent their entire summer wishing for. This was due in part to stories told by other students in regard to his incredible organization, his concise and easy-to-understand notes, and his stunning professionalism. In fact, many of my peers' parents had requested that their child be placed in his class to achieve the highest quality of education for their last year in elementary. Unfortunately, I did not have the good fortune of being in his homeroom class, but did get the opportunity to learn math from him. This was simply because M. Messiha was and probably still is the only teacher qualified enough to provide a proper math education to young student minds - his passion and patience extending to reach through their predisposed hatred for math and completely erasing it with his simple yet thorough explanations on difficult math concepts. Personally, I never found trouble with his three-day math cycle because his teachings were so effective: his initial lesson helped you to completely understand the concept, the practice further solidified your knowledge, and the quiz was a breeze after that. In a mere three days, M. Messiha always managed to teach a math concept that to this day remains with me and helps me throughout my high school career. Another example of M. Messiha's passion for mathematics and student success takes form in the Python Club - a small club that had meetings during recess once a week where M. Messiha would dedicate his own time to teaching students Python bit by bit. Within a couple months, I was able to program calculators for math concepts TAUGHT BY M. MESSIHA, simple games, and had learned basic data management. M. Messiha's initiative was such a huge hit that he was invited to the YRDSB Quest Conference, along with myself and one other student who had reaped the maximum benefits out of this Python learning, to speak about Python programming in a classroom environment. M. Messiha not only opened up my eyes to the world of mathematics but opened the doors to a whole world of opportunities, beginning with this amazing leadership opportunity that has been a highlight for every volunteer position I've applied for since. I could continue to go on and on about M. Messiha's selfless and phenomenal actions, or how he later went on to win the YRDSB teacher of the year award

M. Messiha is no doubt the best teacher I have ever met. It is a huge blessing that my child is in his class this year. She stopped saying, ‘I hate math’ since last September. She does have a lot of homework but she never complains. M. Messiha’s dedication, commitment, and passion to teaching is unheard of. He prepares his teaching materials extensively. His Weebly site includes every lesson on Math and French where students can find videos, pictures, and drawings. If students forget things or miss a school day, they will not fall behind showing his continuous effort and thoughtfulness to ensure that his students succeed. His achievement in teaching was also recognized by YRDSB when he earned the ‘Teacher of the Year 2016 Award’. The comments written by both his past and current students demonstrate just how excellent he is. Many of them said M. Messiha prepares them very well for high school. One student said, ‘everyday he comes to class with just one goal, that is to teach and make his student excel.’ Where else can you find a teacher like M. Messiha? Other schools are probably desperate for a teacher like him. M. Messiha has been performing extraordinarily and is loved by many.
